Description
Sodium Metabisulfite Liquid 40% is a clear to pale-yellow aqueous solution produced from sodium metabisulfite. It acts as a strong reducing agent, antioxidant, dechlorinating agent, and sulfur dioxide source. Widely used in water treatment, chemical processing, pulp & paper, and food-permitted applications (specific grades only).

Storage & Handling
Storage
Store in cool, dry, well-ventilated area
Keep containers sealed to prevent oxidation and contamination
Do not store near acids — releases SO₂ gas
Avoid exposure to heat/sunlight
Shelf Life: ~6 months if stored properly
Handling
Use PPE: gloves, goggles, face shield
Ensure proper ventilation
Do not mix with acids or oxidizing agents
Use corrosion-resistant pumps & equipment
First Aid
Skin contact: Wash with plenty of water
Eye contact: Rinse thoroughly and seek medical attention
Inhalation: Move to fresh air, provide oxygen if needed
Ingestion: Rinse mouth; do not induce vomiting; seek medical help
