Category:
Aromatic Hydrocarbon Solvent / Industrial Solvent / Chemical Intermediate
Description: Mixed Xylene is a clear, colorless, highly aromatic hydrocarbon solvent consisting primarily of ortho-, meta-, and para-xylene isomers, with small amounts of ethylbenzene. It is characterized by its moderate evaporation rate, high solvency power, and excellent compatibility with a wide range of resins and polymers. Mixed Xylene is widely used in the paint, coatings, adhesives, and petrochemical industries as a blending and thinning agent, as well as a feedstock for xylene isomer separation. It offers consistent performance, controlled boiling range, and high purity for industrial applications.
Applications:
1. Paints, Coatings & Inks Used as a solvent and diluent in industrial coatings, enamels, lacquers, and printing inks. Provides uniform film formation and controlled drying time.
2. Adhesives & Sealants Serves as a carrier solvent in rubber-based adhesives and sealants. Enhances flow, leveling, and bonding properties.
3. Cleaning & Degreasing Effective solvent cleaner for removal of grease, oil, and residues from metal surfaces. Used in automotive and industrial degreasing applications.
4. Chemical Intermediate Used in production of phthalic anhydride, isophthalic acid, and terephthalic acid. Employed in petrochemical refineries for xylene isomer separation.
