(Also known as Polyetheramine D-230 or Amino-Terminated Polyoxypropylene Diamine)
Category:
Polyetheramine / Epoxy Curing Agent / Reactive Intermediate
Description:
Jeffamine D-230 is a polyetheramine with an average molecular weight of approximately 230 g/mol. It is a clear, low-viscosity aliphatic diamine with primary amine groups attached to the ends of a polyoxypropylene chain. This product is widely used as an epoxy curing agent, modifier, and chemical intermediate in coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers, and composites. Its flexible ether backbone provides excellent toughness, chemical resistance, and low color development in cured systems.
Applications:
1. Epoxy Systems (Curing Agent) Used as a curing agent for epoxy resins in coatings, adhesives, and composite formulations. Provides good flexibility, impact strength, and chemical resistance.
2. Polyurea and Polyamide Systems Reacts with isocyanates and acids to form polyureas and polyamides for coatings and elastomers.
3. Fuel and Lubricant Additives Acts as a dispersant or corrosion inhibitor in engine oils and fuel formulations.
4. Chemical Intermediate Used in urethane, surfactant, and amine-modified resin synthesis.
5. Composites & Sealants Provides durability and adhesion in fiber-reinforced and structural systems.
