Description

Ferric Chloride Liquid is a dark brown to black aqueous solution of ferric chloride (FeCl₃). It is widely used as a high-efficiency coagulant for industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, sewage treatment, sludge conditioning, and industrial effluent clarification. It hydrolyzes rapidly to form ferric hydroxide flocs, which remove suspended solids, heavy metals, phosphates, and organic contaminants.

Storage & Handling
Storage

  • Store in cool, ventilated area away from heat & sunlight

  • Keep containers tightly closed

  • Use acid-resistant storage tanks (HDPE/FRP/rubber-lined)

  • Avoid contact with metals — corrosive

Shelf Life

  • Typically 12 months in sealed containers

Handling

  • Wear protective gloves, goggles, face shield

  • Use corrosion-resistant pumps & pipelines

  • Ensure good ventilation

  • Do not mix with alkalis without control (violent reactions possible)

Safety & First Aid

  • Skin contact: Wash with water; remove contaminated clothing

  • Eye contact: Rinse thoroughly, seek immediate medical help

  • Inhalation: Move to fresh air; seek medical attention if irritation occurs

  • Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting; seek immediate medical attention

Note: Ferric Chloride is corrosive and can stain surfaces & skin.

  • Compatible with most polymer-based flocculants

  • Adjust dosage based on jar testing & effluent characteristics
