Inorganic Chemical
Coagulant / Flocculant for Water & Wastewater Treatment
Description
Ferric Chloride Liquid is a dark brown to black aqueous solution of ferric chloride (FeCl₃). It is widely used as a high-efficiency coagulant for industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, sewage treatment, sludge conditioning, and industrial effluent clarification. It hydrolyzes rapidly to form ferric hydroxide flocs, which remove suspended solids, heavy metals, phosphates, and organic contaminants.
Applications
Municipal water & wastewater treatment
Industrial effluent treatment plants (ETP/STP)
Sewage treatment & sludge dewatering
Phosphate removal in wastewater systems
Odor control in wastewater operations
Treatment of metal-bearing industrial waste streams
Etching agent in electronics/PCB manufacturing
Catalyst in chemical reactions (specific grades)

Typically 12 months in sealed containers
Handling
Wear protective gloves, goggles, face shield
Use corrosion-resistant pumps & pipelines
Ensure good ventilation
Do not mix with alkalis without control (violent reactions possible)
Safety & First Aid
Skin contact: Wash with water; remove contaminated clothing
Eye contact: Rinse thoroughly, seek immediate medical help
Inhalation: Move to fresh air; seek medical attention if irritation occurs
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting; seek immediate medical attention
Note: Ferric Chloride is corrosive and can stain surfaces & skin.
Notes
Very effective for phosphorous & odor control in sewage systems
Compatible with most polymer-based flocculants
Adjust dosage based on jar testing & effluent characteristics
