Acrylonitrile (ACN)
Price: Rs 98 per Kg + GST as applicable
Category: Industrial Chemical / Vinyl Monomer / Petrochemical Intermediate
Description: Acrylonitrile (ACN) is a highly reactive unsaturated nitrile primarily used as a key monomer in polymer and fiber manufacturing. It appears as a clear, flammable liquid with a pungent odor and offers excellent chemical reactivity for producing synthetic fibers, plastics, elastomers and specialty chemicals. ACN is widely used in ABS, SAN plastics, nitrile rubber and acrylic fiber industries.
Applications:
- Polymer Manufacturing: ABS, SAN plastics, polyacrylonitrile fibers
- Elastomers: nitrile rubber (NBR) for hoses, seals, gaskets, gloves
- Adhesives & Sealants: acrylic adhesives and specialty polymer systems
- Chemical Intermediate: production of acrylamide, adiponitrile, and surface coatings
- Automotive & Electrical: lightweight components, housings, connectors
- Textile Industry: acrylic synthetic fibers for clothing and carpets
