Description: 2-Methyl-1,3-Propanediol (MP Diol) is a colorless, low-volatility diol with two primary hydroxyl groups and a branched carbon structure. It provides excellent hydrolytic stability, low odor, and enhanced flexibility when used in polymer systems. MP Diol is widely used as a chemical intermediate in producing polyesters, polyurethanes, plasticizers, and coatings. Its unique molecular structure offers improved resistance to water and heat compared to traditional glycols. 

Applications: 

1. Polyester & Polyurethane Manufacturing: Used as a diol component in polyester resins, polyurethanes, and saturated polyesters for coatings and films. Provides flexibility, chemical resistance, and low-temperature performance in formulations. 

2. Coatings & Adhesives: Serves as a co-monomer in alkyd resins, powder coatings, and waterborne coatings. Enhances gloss, hardness, and durability of final coatings. 

3. Plasticizers & Lubricants: 

Acts as a raw material for ester-type plasticizers and lubricants. 

4. Personal Care & Specialty Chemicals: Used in cosmetic formulations and fragrance carriers due to its mildness and stability.
